We are delighted to announce our keynote speaker, renowned Future of Work expert, Heather E. McGowan who shares her insights on how the global health crisis accelerated a dramatic shift in work, learning and leading. As well as being a leading speaker in her field, Heather is a well-respected author and her most recent publication The Adaptation Advantage was selected as one of the top 30 Business books for 2021 and the most downloaded book in December 2020, describing the profound changes happening in the world of work.

Keynote speaker:

Heather E. McGowan

When Heather McGowan and Chris Shipley wrote The Adaptation Advantage they did not realize how prescient their advice and predictions would become when the coronavirus global pandemic required an immediate and dramatic shift in work, learning, and leading.  Predictions they made for the next three to five years, occurred over the following three to five weeks. Overnight companies remapped supply chains, pivoted product lines, and transformed to distributed work-from-home organization. This new normal, or normal of now, requires a focus on culture, purpose, trust and psychological safety. The virus has accelerated our future of work, expedited our human transformation to digital creating, and placed an even greater burden on leaders to inspire and motivate human potential. Even when the virus subsides, many of our new ways of working will remain and we will be the better for this forced transformation.

Conference attendees will hear first-hand from Patricia Fors, Lead Consultant, Future of Work.

Opening speaker:

Patricia Fors

Patricia has spent her career working in Senior Level HR positions and most recently as Global Lead, Future of Work, IKEA, identifying and leading out on their Global Future of Work plans for their business and their 160,000 employees. Patricia will share her key practical learnings as well as the insights she has gained from organisations in Ireland through engagements with Adare Human Resource Management.
