The following legislation should be considered when looking at Disciplinary:
- Unfair Dismissals Acts, 1977 – 2011 - set out to provide redress for Employees who are unfairly dismissed from employment. However, as well as establishing automatically unfair grounds for a dismissal, the legislation also sets out fair reasons for dismissal of an Employee.
- S.I. No. 146 of 2000 : Industrial Relations Act 1990 Code of Practice on Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures (Declaration) Order 2000 – sets out to provide guidance to Employers, Employees and their representatives on the general principles which apply in the operation of grievance & disciplinary practices.
- Employment Equality Acts, 1998 - 2012 - set out a statutory framework to uphold equality in Irish workplaces, they cover in particular discriminatory dismissal.
