New Strategic Partnership with the CIPD
We are delighted to announce a new three-year strategic partnership between the CIPD and Adare Trusted People Partners.
This new partnership with the CIPD will span events, thought leadership, practical learning and insight, helping HR professionals and people managers understand and respond to an increasingly complex employment relations environment. The partnership will include collaboration across the Annual CIPD and Employment Law conferences, webinars, podcasts and digital content.
The partnership, commencing in September, starts with seven regional Mock Workplace Relations Commission (WRC) events which will allow HR professionals to experience how a workplace dispute can unfold from evidence and legal submissions through to cross examination and adjudication. The hearings will allow HR professionals to experience how a workplace dispute can unfold from evidence and legal submissions through to cross examination and adjudication.
The series will feature a panel of leading HR and legal professionals including a WRC adjudication officer, a barrister and experienced HR leaders. The first event took place at Atlantic Technological University, Sligo on Tuesday, September 22nd and is being followed by mock WRC hearings in Galway, Limerick, Athlone, Waterford, Dublin and Cork.
Topics at the mock WRC include occupational health, mental health and reasonable accommodations, extensions of probations, the growing role of social media in workplace disputes, and the use of AI in employment-related submissions.
Meg Dunphy, Senior Lead Stakeholder Engagement with the CIPD said, “Employment law only tells us part of the story. In HR, human judgement, empathy and an understanding of the local context cannot be underestimated, particularly when we are dealing with complex and often very personal workplace situations. Our role at CIPD is to bring the law to life and help people professionals translate legislation and good practice into sound, practical decision-making. We are continually looking for ways to level up the profession in Ireland, giving our members opportunities to keep their knowledge current, their skills honed and their professional judgement strong. Our partnership with Adare is a great example of that. The WRC Mock Adjudication series takes employment law out of the abstract and puts professionals into realistic situations where they can test their judgement, learn from others and see the implications of getting the process right.”
Derek McKay, Founder and Director of Adare People Partners added, “The issues landing on HR practitioners’ desks today are more complex than they were even two or three years ago. At Adare Trusted People Partners, we are delighted to work in collaboration with CIPD Ireland over the coming three years, working directly alongside their members to help them navigate these challenges and make the most of the opportunities ahead. From our national Mock WRC series to the CIPD Employment Law Conference, this is about giving HR practitioners real, practical experience – not just information. We believe that’s how you build genuine confidence and capability across the profession.”
Would you like to join us in a realistic WRC hearing and explore how complex workplace disputes are examined, challenged and resolved?
