The Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act Podcast:

The Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act came into force from the first week of March 2019.

The objective of the Act is to address issues that arise for workers with unspecified/insecure hours of work by the provision of new statutory protections and rights and the prohibition of the use by Employers of zero-hour contracts, save in certain limited circumstances.

Adare Human Resource Management conducted a Podcast on the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act which was completed by Katie Ridge and Orlaith Mannion.

Katie Ridge, Head of Employer Relations, Adare Human Resource Management. Katie is Chartered MCIPD, Barrister at Law, has practical Human Resource experience combined with substantial employment law knowledge and workplace investigation know how. She has supported many Organisations by providing practical legal and professional advice and guidance.

Orlaith Mannion who currently works in the Legislation and Planning Unit of Department of Employment Affairs and Social Protection. She was part of the team that assisted the Minister in drafting the Employment (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2018. She has previously worked as an Adjudication Officer in the Workplace Relations Commission and as an Equality Officer in the Equality Tribunal.
