WORK-LIFE BALANCE GRANT SCHEME – applications now being accepted
Adare Human Resource Management is working with the Equality Authority to promote Work-Life Balance initiatives within Organisations.
Through a Grant Scheme that has been in place since 2008, we have successfully worked with Organisations throughout the country under this Grant Scheme/ Initiative.
This scheme is available at no financial cost to employers.
Work-life balance (WLB) refers to a range of flexible working initiatives and arrangements that go beyond employees’ statutory leave entitlements. WLB assists employees to combine employment with their family life, caring responsibilities and with personal life outside the workplace.
Established by the National Framework Committee for Work-Life Balance in conjunction with the Equality Authority, this Scheme is available for qualifying Organisations (private organisations that have between 10 – 250 employees) to avail of professional advice to assist in the development of Work Life Balance policies and to advise on the appropriate implementation and approach.
The support provided covers:
- Advice on developing and implementing a work life balance policy / enhancing existing initiatives
- Training management and/or employees in designing initiatives and promoting these initiatives internally
Some of the work successfully carried out with Organisations to-date includes:
- Increasing awareness amongst employees of current Work-Life Balance initiatives available to them within their Organisation;
- Providing the HR / Management team with an understanding of what other Work-Life Balance initiatives are possible and what other Organisations are doing in this area;
- Planning for the promotion and enhancement of Work-Life Balance initiatives within the Organisation;
- Assisting with the development of non-statutory leave arrangements and working practice initiatives;
- Facilitating the introduction of health and well being initiatives.
How does the scheme work?
A brief application form (available from Adare HRM) is submitted to the Equality Authority which meets monthly to consider applications.
