Employment equality is a key area for Organisations which operate in Ireland. The Employment Equality Acts set out a statutory framework to uphold equality in the workplace, whilst E.U. Directives and legislative decisions have an impact on employment practice.

Equality is an area of importance to Organisations, particularly as it is an area where there is significant exposure to the potential risk of claims by both Employees and Applicants for employment.  Aside from the possible compensation that may be awarded to an Employee should their case be successful at a third party forum, potential negative publicity that may be generated by an equality claim may also be an unwelcome result of a claim.
